Being Mindful In A World Moving Too Fast

Hello, I am new to the Starseed Psychics blog. I was delighted to be given an invitation to share my thoughts on being mindful in this fast-paced world. The world stood still in the early weeks of 2020. Across the globe came pictures of cities in Europe, Asia, and Africa. Then Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, the Aleutian Chain, China, and even Russia – a world that was absent of people. The skies over Los Angelos were clear, with no yellow smog and even in Bejing, the skies were clear.

All over the world, we took a deep breath in silence. In the cities, there were sightings of animals that had not been seen outside of a zoo. If seen, only rarely. I woke up one morning and there was a family of deer who had jumped over the fence. They had come to the window perhaps to see if we were still there. I live in the suburbs of Washington state. Although we had several families of opossums, raccoons, and crows visiting the backyard nightly, this time it was different.

More Insight

We watched them watching us, as curious to see us inside all day and night as well as our absence off streets and highways. I want to say that the beginning of the great silence gave us the opportunity – before the scope of the pandemic set in – to listen and become more mindful. In the stillness are great answers. In the stillness the “I” of who we are seemed to be awakened.

We are becoming more and more aware of the illusions life in this 22 century has brought us. In listening to the silence, we became aware of the listening in the silence. More and more people began the search for something more. Something more is becoming a gentle pull, a gentle pull to plant a food garden, maybe go through closets and donate to a worthy cause or volunteer at soup kitchens.

The world stopped and everywhere people took a deep look into their lives, their careers, and their beliefs and found things lacking. Learning to be mindful and meditate instead of medicating, taking a walk instead of watching the television, and listening to the sound of the Earth at sunset. It is my sincerest wish that we do not forget to remember what a jewel silence gave us.

  1. I really resonate with this post. Silence is something I not only seek in this overstimulating life, but in my mind as well. Thanks for reminding me of this importance ❤️

Thank you so much for your comment. I hope you will take a moment every day to take a deep breath, exhale and smile. All three will help the world become a better place because of you being in it. Peace to you.
